123 S Washington
St. Croix Falls, WI
Building over the years:
The property at "123" S Washington has a rich history dating back to its origins as the original firehall of St. Croix Falls in 1906.
In the early 1960s, the building underwent significant expansion to become the official Saint Croix Falls municipal building, accommodating various city services such as the Police Department, Library, Bond Court, Fire Department, and City Administration Offices.
Over the decades, the building transitioned through different uses, housing establishments like a Sears and Roebuck Outlet Store, a pharmacy, a newspaper processing and packing plant, a beauty shop, and The Red Brick Grill Restaurant.
In 2005, Christine Carmeli acquired the property and transformed it into Chach’Ka Gift & Design Shop and Cafe, introducing notable features like the Artist Loft Apartment Design, mosaic exterior, three large doors, glass block windows, and a charming courtyard.
Following subsequent iterations as a gun shop, cafe, and retreat center, the property was reinvented in 2019 to offer bespoke vacation rentals, a special event venue, and an elegant owner's residence on the garden level.
In 2023 the building was once again opened to the public as a private event venue.
